The cheapest on our dates was a pod (within the park's grounds) costing £538. It does include breakfast, entrance to the park and a safari. The Lion Lodge was sold out for our dates, but a two-night midweek stay in July would set you back £4,500. The popular tourist attraction in Lympne, near Hythe, isn't for the faint-hearted though. It is one of a number of lodges set within the grounds of the wildlife park which brings you nose-to-nose (albeit with reinforced glass inbetween) with the likes of lions, tigers, rhino or giraffes. While if you wanted to 'live like a king' then you could plump for the Edward VII suite which, for two nights, would set you back around £725. If you're lucky enough to book a stay (and there are precious few dates left for the next six months - our test dates were all sold out - so be quick) then a standard double will cost you around £210 a night (so £420 in total). The service and accommodation has achieved B&B five gold star status. Here you get to stay in one of 27 bedrooms in the Astor or Anne Boleyn wings of the historic house. But in the 21st century, Hever Castle's Bed and Breakfast is a rather more salubrious affair. Think B&B and you may not think back to years gone by when the initials were rarely a by-word for luxury. It boasts a 45sq m room, complete with sofa, dining table and an oversized bath tub. But if money is no object, then the Master Suite could be yours for a mere £1,280. Prices for an available (at time of writing) two-night stay (which includes dinner, bed and breakfast) in a 'Comfy Double' start at £720. Its Utopia Spa is a big attraction, with what it describes as "Romanesque split-level pools, saunas, steam room and whirlpools". but then you may not have considered Rowhill Grange nestling in nearby Wilmington.Ī former country house, it has four silver stars to its name (which means its service and food put it a cut above regular four-stars). Two nights will set you back a cool £2,940. A regular Cave Room on the same dates? £835. The Penthouse, sadly, wasn't available on our dates, but a Signature Suite, with views of the golf course, could be yours, on a room-only basis for a mere, ahem, £1,462. Its biggest room is The Penthouse which comes with a cinema screen, wrap-around balcony, separate dining area and, get this, your own chef. Opening in 2019 after a £12m investment, it is set in the grounds of Boughton Golf Club between Faversham and Canterbury.
