![]() If they aren't spinning, then you have probably found your problem. If they are spinning, and at 100c it should sound like a jet engine, then there is something else wrong. I know that sometimes my custom fan curves won't apply, and the fans wont spin, so check that. You might also want to check and make sure the fans are spinning to see if that could be one of the problems. ![]() Because GPUs should never really go above 85c at max, and if they do, something is wrong. You might want to contact nvidia/whatever company you bought it from to see if they will RAM/give you a replacement. If you haven't messed with the card physically at all, then something probably went wrong when it was assembled. If the GPU temp/hotspot temp is skyrocketing up to 100c instantly, then something is very wrong with your GPU. But with the T1, especially with the 3090 that is a true 3 slot width the air has no place to go and pools heat around the GPU. Air is drawn in from the front and vented out the back. I was actually watching an old NexusGamer video, it explains that the Founders has challenges when the backplate of the card is mounted close to something such as the motherboard. It seems that with the crunch to produce card to meet the crazy demand that thermal pads and paste have not been done well across the manufacturing industry. I think, in addition to the checking the airflow it would be sound to replace the thermal pads. Then over a minute or so it stabilizes back at idle. Now when the game is closed it drops 40C almost instantly. My GPU was running hot and in addition took a long time to cool down. ![]() Despite the principles of thermal dynamics NavicNick was absolutely right on the thermal improvement. ![]() I think it was NavicNick that cued me into the idea that air should ideally be drawn in from the top and bottom and vented out the side panels. Your temperatures in Hand of Faith on Medium are what mine are in Far Cry 6 on ultra with a 5950x dumping heat into the radiator. If the card does not within seconds begin to drop in temperature after the game is closed it is likely the air flow and fan orientation. A good test for how your air flow is affecting the temperature is how quickly the card cools down to normal temperatures. ![]()
